While it may be true that Nicole and Murray are family now, Nicole being my husband’s cousin, I chose to work with them as clients because they are the sort of people I love working with. Nicole is organized, artistic, and sweet. Murray is witty, quick to smile, and smart. Those are just a few of the things you notice about them after only being around them for a little while. Their relationship is sweet, they obviously fit like a hand and glove. At their reception, I was touched when Murray’s father pointed to a photo I’d taken of them as a part of their Engagement photos and talked about how blissful Nicole’s face looked – a woman in love – and how precious that photo was to him, a representation of their love. As a photographer, that’s the kind of thing that makes you glow a little. I caught that same look a couple of times at the wedding – that mixture of pleasure, surrender, and peace. That’s the kind of thing we live to capture, as photographers. It was wonderful to have the chance to work with them on their wedding day, from Nicole and her bridesmaids getting their hair done until the dance began to wind down that night, I was able to be a part of their love story. What an honor and a privilege. Nicole’s Mom commented to me that she really appreciated that someone who cared and had a vested interest was working with them, and I thought to myself, “But I always do! It’s not just something I do for family!” I care about all my couples, really and truly. The romantic in me wants to see their decision to spend their lives together flourish into something beautiful – and my photos to be a lasting reminder that they loved from the beginning. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed taking them!
